That was the year that was – 2022!

So another year is almost over and here we will look back on some of the highlights of the year:

Attendances over the 33 Stroll With It walks in Irvine reached 299 whilst a further 93 walks led by our partners and volunteers across North Ayrshire were attended by another 297. Nordic walking proved popular by those wanting a bit more of a workout with 102 attendees over 19 sessions. 38 people took part in basic bike maintenance classes; 10 people took their cycle ride leader qualification and we teamed up with the Beith Trust and volunteers to lead a series of led cycle rides. There were 115 entries to our North Ayrshire Through the Lens Photo competition and some fabulous photos submitted. We took part in 10 events organised by other groups and engaged with almost 800 people at these. The Active travel Team organised the first ever Pedal Irvine event which attracted 302 entries from the young to the old, inexperienced to experienced. Once again we joined forces with the Active Travel Hubs in Kilmarnock and Ayr to jointly run the Ayrshire Women’s Cycle festival. This year the three hubs also organised the first Ayrshire Walking Festival. We had over 1500 people through the doors of the Trinity and the year ended with the hub hosting a community festive event complete with a showing of “Elf” on the biggest screen ever!
