SPT Consultation Now Open

SPT is pleased to inform you that the consultation on the draft Strathclyde Regional Bus Strategy is now open.

SPT wants to attract more people to bus and ensure bus is providing essential access for everyday travel.  The draft bus strategy describes a future bus network that aims to deliver:

  • Buses where they are needed, when they are needed
  • Reliable and quicker bus journeys
  • Affordable and attractive fares and ticketing
  • Accessible and safer bus journeys
  • A trusted and recognisable bus network
  • A seamless and integrated bus network
  • A more environmentally sustainable, resilient and adaptable bus network fleet.

The draft bus strategy also sets out a delivery plan.  This includes SPT’s proposal to take forward the development of bus franchising for the region and actions to deliver bus infrastructure and wider policies that support a ‘bus friendly’ environment.

SPT is seeking to understand the extent that partners and stakeholders agree or disagree with the proposed policies and measures and the strategy’s delivery plan.  This consultation will inform the final version of the strategy, which is anticipated to be reported to SPT Partnership Board later in 2025.
