Following the success of our first ever virtual Ayrshire Women’s Cycling Festival last year we are back again this year for another virtual event. Due to the unpredictableness of COVID-19 we have made the decision to hold another virtual event in our efforts to empower women and to encourage as many people to get on their bikes.
The festival is a collaboration project with our friends over at Ayr Active Travel Hub and Kilmarnock Active Travel Hub and it is our joint approach at collectively championing the many benefits of cycling and raising its awareness in our community.
Our festival this year takes place over three evenings, 5th to 7th May, and it is packed full of live interviews, inspirational bike stories, bike maintenance videos (specifically created for this event), pre-recorded sessions and lots and lots of information. We are covering a range of topics this year so there is something for everyone no matter what ability of cyclist you are. Our festival includes our live interview and Q&A session with Kayleigh Haggo (World Champion Race Runner!), a live panel discussion with several inspirational women chatting about taboo topics (not to be missed) and our Friday Film screening of Resolution Race; a race that challenged both body and mind for 4 women on 2 cargo bikes, cycling between Edinburgh and Copenhagen. For more details on our full programme please click here. You can register for any of the live interviews or pre-recorded sessions by clicking on the ‘register’ link.
If you would like any further information on this festival or any of our activities please get in contact with us. We look forward to seeing you all really soon.
